(^^^Picture above of me actually getting to sit for a moment on our trip.)
Anyways, I was away for one national conference, then a trip to Disney World (which was so busy during spring break) and finally a state conference once I got back from my vacation. PHEW! So much to take on so quickly, but so much fun and learning (I learned in Disney that I have some pretty awesome kids that I don't have to argue with too much)!
So one of my many favorite things that I learned was how to create easy and cheap engineering kits that we could let people check out and play with at home. It might take some time to get them started, but I think it could definitely be a fun addition to our Thursday Explore Your Imagination programs.
I also went to a program called Ditching Dewey, where they got rid of the number system that we all know and moved onto a new type of number/color system that makes sense to real people. That would be a HUGE time commitment, but I think a real useful one, because it would be way easier for you guys to find books.
So what do you guys think? Time to ditch dewey? :)
