Time to make your resolutions!

Here comes the New Year and with that comes New Year's Eve celebrations... or in the library world "Noon Year's Eve". Space is almost full so hurry up! (Shame on me. It is possibly full already, I just really liked the poster I made.)
With the New Year comes plans and ...dramatic sound... resolutions! I'm pretty proud of my previous year's resolutions. I did manage to keep the blog going and while I am not a running diva yet, I have continued throughout the year to run.
What should this year's resolution be? I am leaning towards organization (as, I am sure, everyone who knows me would encourage me to choose). My brain is as flighty, floaty and fluffy as a puff of dandelion seeds. So what do you say? Choose the hardest thing possible? FUN, right? Let's do it!
What will you choose? ... No, you cannot just choose Pikachu. :P

The staff have created a special blog!

Two of our staff, Hannah and Laura, have created a new blog! Unlike mine, which is a bunch of randomness, they have created a very specific  one for teens. Its all based on book lists, but not just any book lists, but book lists about the zodiac. They'll be displaying the books in the teen area, so be on the lookout!
Please check out their blog. They're just beginning, but I feel like their enthusiasm is sure to pour out into the blog, and we love sharing our enthusiasm. :)

December is here let's all cheer!

So at my house we celebrate Christmas. And with Christmas comes presents. And with presents comes lots of thinking. What do you get kids that have everything and need nothing?

Well? ... I'm waiting! ... I could use some assistance. :)

The obvious things:
1. books (although what haven't they read, what do they want to read?)
2. Socks (everyone needs new socks)
3. bed sheets (nothing is better than new bed sheets)
4. candy (everyone should have at least a tiny bit)
5. a new tooth brush (to get rid of all the candy)
6. more books ....
7. At this point maybe another book shelf

See! I'm stumped! What do I get them? I don't want to buy them the newest gadgets and gizmos because they will like them for two minutes and then they will gather dust. Plus they don't need more electronics. We have electronics coming out of our ears at our house (and we don't even have hearing aids!)

Do you guys ever have trouble with this? What do you do to conquer the Christmas madness?

Thanks everyone!
