The Art of the Audio Book

So recently I've been listening to lots of podcasts and I decided to change things up a little and listen to an audio book. Listening to an audio book is very different from reading a book. When you are reading a book, you create the voices. When listening, you depend upon the speaker for that. I think its similar to watching a movie after reading the book.
Do you ever get super disappointed after reading a book that you really enjoyed and then watching the movie? The actors don't look like they should, the location is wrong and they mix up the plot of the story? Yup. I know its happened to you. Well the same thing happens for audio books, yet in a slightly different way. The reader can make all the difference.
A book that people are telling you is the most amazing can totally ruin a book for you. On the other hand, a book can also be totally incredible thanks to the reader even though people who read it don't care for it. Right now, unfortunately, I am having a hard time getting through a book (I will only tell you if you ask me in person!) because of the reader.
Have you ever had that trouble? Let me know!
